ABOUT MR. KANEMASU-MAR
LIFE is an Adventure. Science has helped me value and respect it.
Feel free to call me "Mr. Kanemasu-Mar" or "Mr. Mar"
Before Teaching, I had the opportunity to build and implement health and wellness programming in Sacramento, CA at American Legion High School. I worked with teenagers and their families to better understand the benefits of proper nutrition and physical exercise and it was a joy to help inform and empower people to make choices that matter.

I was born and raised in Fremont, CA and spent my undergrad in Southern California at UCLA, studying Physiology. My wife and I have both made our way into Education and I have been blessed to teach High School Biology in Los Angeles and Coach Cross Country and Track & Field for the last 6 years. I've taught 9th and 11th graders and seen 4 classes graduate onto college. My goal is to prepare my students for HS and college and equip them with the skills they need to be life-long learners.

I believe science is a critical method for understanding the world and helps us explain the observations and phenomena we experience every day. Nature is mighty and beautiful - as you can see from the photos I've tried to capture from the National Parks. Our planet inspires and humbles me and I hope to share the transformational power of nature with all of my students. Adventure on!
