WEEKLY FORMATIVE PROGRESS CHECKS
Students will receive performance feedback to help them track their readiness for the summative assessments. It is up to each student to receive and respond to their feedback.
Classwork - Class activities, Models, Problem sets, Documentation in Science Journal, Do Nows, Exit Tickets
Homework - Given Mondays, Practice sets, articles, research, videos, or any other support you need to utilize to enhance your understanding. (Take it if you need it)
ABSENCES & MAKEUP WORK
Review the weekly plan and ask your teammates about what you missed.
Backlog your Science Journal with the info/notes/handouts you missed.
If you missed 2+ days, you need to complete a makeup contract before rejoining your team.
An incomplete makeup contract may involve a parent conference.
GRADE BREAKDOWN
Summative Assessments that make up 100% of your Final Grade.
These will happen throughout & at the end of the Unit. Grades are Mastery-based and should reflect the student’s LEVEL of MASTERY they have achieved based on their evidence of growth overtime.
INDIVIDUAL & CLASS TESTS
Taken at end of each unit. Class Tests will involve collaboration with your “Company”
CLASS PROGRESS CHECKS
Fridays, 3-5 randomly selected student work (Exit Tickets) will be scored and averaged for all student grades
INVESTIGATIONS & LABS
Usually done with your Table Team; assessed on your lab skills & documentation from your reports
PRESENTATIONS
Various activities will require a presentation (individual/team/class) to communicate your findings/ideas.
REASSESSMENT POLICY

Master Your Abilities. Identify your errors and fix them to show complete understanding.
2 WEEK WINDOW
For Tests Only. You may reassess anytime within this timeframe.
REPLACE YOUR SCORE
Your reassessment score will replace the old one and be your most updated level of mastery.

3 opportunities max per Test (Initial + 2 Retakes)
